Tweets by my best friend,Aliaa, about Silverchair made me wrote this post.

Both of us are big fans ofSilverchair – the Australian rock band – well, Aliaa got a chance to attendtheir concert (at least) but I was then hoping very much that they will comedown to Malaysia. Yeah, teenage life was all about concerts.

Back then, I was a deejayin my high school – I and the rest of the team were in charged to play somesongs in the early morning before the bell rings. Students and teachers canlisten to the songs through hailer loudspeaker (i think) across the school.

And one day, my friend andI put on a song by Silverchair called Emotion Sickness. It was a bad move. Wewere scolded by our headmistress due the “loud” song. If you don’t know how thesong is like, watch this video below. Hahahahahahaha...beraninya we all masa tu!

New hangout place - Nadi Annissa

Do you have a place you hangout every weekend or every free time? Like a friend’s place or cool place in a coffee shop with a sofa like in the sitcom ‘Friends’. Budak – budak kita panggil ‘pot’. Herm, not sure it’s the correct spelling but you know what I mean, right?

I always wanted to have this kinda place. When I was a teenager, I used to hang out at malls especially at cafés like Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Gloria Jeans, Sega Fredo, etc. Actually, my friends and I met up there and just chit chatted all day long – killed the time. Hahaha but it was fun ok! I think we tried to imitate Joey and his friends (FRIENDS).

Recently, I discovered a new place to hang out. It’s called Nadi Annissa. The muslimah clubhouse is situated in Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya, and you can do lots of stuff there. It has swimming pool, gym, mini library (I went crazy when I saw the books!), dance room (for jazzercise), locker room, musollah, kitchen (if you want to cook), etc.

So far, there are few classes have started – jazzercise, Quran tutorial, Quran class, self- defense class and class for the beginners (reverts). But coming soon, there’ll be more classes to start, so check out the place from time to time or you can visit their Facebook official page.

When my friend Alia and I first stepped in to Nadi Annissa, we felt so welcomed! The house (bungalow lot) was huge and the ambience was marvelous. One thing I like about this place is that muslimah can take out their hijabs right after they enter the door. No problem to swim and do the exercise without hijab. Fuhhhhh….lega!

But one thing I cherished the most is that on the first day we went, there was the tazkirah session with the owner, Hajjah Hafsah. She’s still young but with lots of good stories and the stories she told made us fell in love with Islam all over again. From her pass life till now, her journey to come back to Islam was something I can’t forget. It’s good to meet someone who had discovered Islam in life again.

We joined the jazzercise class later that evening and I think it was a good workout session since I’ve not been doing any exercise for a long time. Me no stamina!!!! So, I WAS TIRED and helpless during the class. Aish!

I’m sure of going back there again this Saturday and every other Saturdays. So now I’ve found my ‘pot’ to hang out already! Join me people!!!! J

Usrah group

Alhamdulillah, I’m starting the new year with so much hope on increasing my imaan. And one of my next missions is to join any usrah group or creating one.

Do you know what is usrah?

It’s a group of Muslimin or Muslimat who gather to share knowledge about Islam. In usrah, there should be a naqib or naqibah to lead the group. I was naïve about this at first, but I don’t want to be left behind anymore. Hence, this year, searching for usrah group is something that's in my head all the time.

I wanted to start an usrah group (my own Bulatan Gumbira) but I never been to one before. Plus, I can’t find a naqibah just yet. So for a start, I emailed to Kak Farwina from We Are Beautiful, Allah Loves us. Kak Farwina is arranging some usrah group within Klang Valley, so we can register to her and enroll ourselves in. You can email her here. (I’m still waiting for her updates on the usrah group, will let you guys know about it soon - oh, i didn't realised she replied to me already. There's so many groups to join! write to her okay!)

I’m so happy that I met new friends who influenced me to be good and very happy to know that my old friends are keen to learn about Islam too. May Allah opens your heart to increase the deens. Let’s strive to be a better Muslim, shall we?!

Let’s forget all the bitter things and visualize for beautiful moments to come this year. I’m sure most of you has set up your new year’s resolutions and aiming for goals in dunya and hereafter.

I want to start my first post in 2012 with something beautiful to me. The FIREWORKS! I got to witness fireworks in Penang too but it was far too different compare to this one.

This is fireworks in London. I tried looking for the one in Paris but most people said there has not been any firework in Paris since four years ago. Enjoy watching!

My Hijrah - The journey of coming home

Everyone has their own story, journey of life i would say. Probably they are from bad to good or the other way around. But my journey was something that i never thought of walking. It was the journey of coming home.

For many years I tried to forget about him, the guy who was everything to me. He was my first love, my heart and soul, but things didn’t go our way. We ended the relationship after two years. I even moved to another state so that I won’t see him again. My heart never seemed to be at peace as day by day what I did was only occupied the time with fun and entertainment. I solat when I remember to solat and never occurred in mind to make solat as my first priority in daily life. That’s why I never found PEACE.

Till I realized that I have to go back to real roots of life – Islam - and living as a real Muslim. I started with keeping my solat 5 times a day. Then, in early 2010, I made up my mind to don the hijab. Alhamdulillah, the feeling was astonishing! I never thought dressing as Muslim woman would be very satisfying and comfortable. I would do this long ago if I knew how AWESOME the feeling could be!

It’s good to practice Islam. I began to recite the Quran mostly everyday till I feel ‘weird’ if I didn’t do it in a day. The Quran made an impact towards me in such a blissful way. It’s just like my ustaz said, the Quran is alive. The more you read it, the more it will affect you. MashaAllah… beautiful isn’t it? You should try it too!

But the most powerful thing was to do Salatul Layl – Night Prayer. I cried and cried to ask for Allah forgiveness and give me the strength to move on with my life. I kept doing it for many nights. I RECOMMEND this to all my fellow readers – wake up in the middle of the night (not for football match, okay) and start doing your 2 rakaat solat. It’s the best moment to talk to Allah.

Alhamdulillah – I’m able to move on now. Allah has showed me the way to happiness. The hidayah was a gift that I would not change with anything else. I pray to Allah that He won’t take back His guidance after He gave it to me.

I don’t regret about my past. Past is past. Lesson learnt. And now, I’m pretty sure Allah has reserved someone for me who I will love for the rest of my life. Thank you Allah.

My mind is flooded with memories of Twins of Faith Malaysia which was held last weekend. I don’t know how long this sickness will last, but I love it and have no intention to find the cure. I’m so blessed. Blessed with what Allah has given to me.

I sacrificed my weekend when I was supposed to go back to hometown and visit family, just for Twins of Faith. Syukran Ya Allah, it was one of the good sacrifices I made when the rewards were astonishingly blissful.

There’s one saying goes like this, “When you want to do good, good people will come near you and vice versa.” I intended to join this event for such a long time. Since then, I prayed to God that I will be surrounded by good people and I really wanna be their friends. Like what Wardina Safiyyah said, “Ini perjumpaan orang baik-baik.” (This is an event for good people). So you can meet all the baik – baik people there. *Wink*

Alhamdulillah, Allah has made it easier for me to attend the event. I was introduced to a lovely girl named Alia by my best friend, Aliaa. Okay, both of them are Alia and Aliaa. Don’t get confuse people! Just focus on the spelling okay. Alia is a friend of Aliaa who studied in Melbourne before this. She came back for good and both of us riang ria bersama-sama carpooling to Twins of Faith. Another friend of mine, Janna, promised to meet me at PICC straight.

I couldn’t really describe the feeling when I was there. The talks, the workshops, the people, priceless man…priceless! There were few times I had teary-eyed by listening to all the beautiful talks from those international and local speakers. MashaAllah. (I got teary-eye now too just by writing this.)

When I saw families with little kids came to the event, it made wondered, I must bring my (future) husband and (future) kids too. InshaAllah. It’s good to expose the young ones to this kinda family event.

Herm, but I've missed the Marriage Facilitation Ceremony although I managed to join the Marriage Corner workshop. It was full (for ladies)! Sah, ramai ladies still single…hahaha. But men can still sign up at the day of the event. Lucky you, men! Herm, I thought I’m gonna meet ‘him’ there, takpelah inshaAllah, everything is in God’s will. I believe in that.

The 2metres tall Buddy Bears – total of 143 – representing 143 countries recognized byUnited Nations are displayed at Pavillion Kuala Lumpur from 8th Dec 2011 to 15th Feb 2012.

Each bearis designated by international artists from their own countries and Malaysia’swas painted by our famous artist, Imuda. Cool eyh? But we didn’t get the chanceto take photo with Malaysia’s Buddy Bear as there were too many people queuingto do so.

Lepat and the kids

I came across these videos in YouTube last year and subscribed to the channel so I can watch Siti Aminah's cute face and talkative conversations with people around her - and herself. Tau ke sape Siti Aminah ni? She is Lepat's daughter - with German's wife. Lepat...ala Lepat tu... Yang anak dia kena larikan oleh wife dia Aishah Brummit 14 years ago.

Ha....sure korang ingat kan! Unless you're born after that year, you might want to dig on the news more. Lepat lives in Germany with his new wife now and they have two beautiful kids - Siti Aminah and Ahmad Azali, 4 years old and 8 months old. Cute sangat........You can watch the videos on Siti Aminah and Ahmad Azali below.

But what happened to Lepat's eldest son, Sunni? I didn't try to search about him before this but my itchy hands can't stop to click click on the mouse browsing on information from the Mr-Know-Everything aka the internet this morning.

Sunni now lives with his mom, Aishah Brummit, in the UK. Not sure whether it's Devon or Bristol but it's in the UK, for sure. And...Sunni is the member of Jukebox Juniors!!! Do you know Jukebox Juniors?? They are one of the best dance group who participated in first UK's Got To Dance! Wow!!!! Dah 16 tahun rupanya dia nie...

Open Circle with Wardina Safiyyah

I had aproblem with Islam because all the ustazah, everybody I meet, yang macamIslamic – tends to judge you, tends to talk about haram-haram-haram, semuadosa-dosa-dosa, azab neraka; yes we understand that but to me we must spreadpeace first. Like the Prophet said, when you go out, don’t talk about the nastythings. Islam is more than just facts and knowledge and solat -Wardina Safiyyah

MasyaAllah,how true isn’t it on what Wardina said. All her words are still fresh in myhead even it was a few hours ago I met her at YMP’s Open Circle in PJ. A greatdiscussion we had with around 50 lovely sisters and the title for the opencircle was Falling in love again with Islam.

WhenI first know about the OC (open circle), I quickly RSVPed to YMP’s secretary toconfirm my seat as I don’t want to miss the opportunity to attend the event.Before I could ask anyone to join me, the registration is closed. Macam gorengpisang panas! So I went there by myself.

Sincethere’ll be a potluck teatime after the OC, I decided to bring some cute polkadot apam to share with the rest of the sisters. It was raining heavily withthunders and storms, but for this ‘majlis ilmu’, I tried my very best to gothrough the hassles and difficulties. Alhamdulillah, I reached the place safely.

Wardinawas a bit late as she met with an accident on her way there. Cobaan... But shestill managed to reach the house and greeted everyone one by one (bersalaman).When she salam with me, she was like,”Eh, it’s you!”

Ijust smiled and said,”Yes, we met before.” Yeah, this is my 3^rd timemeeting her and it’s good that she has good memory!

Okay,enough with the introduction, let’s focus on the points that we discussed inthe OC:

Wardina reminded us to always bring the small Quran with tafsir and put in our handbags. According to her - read the Quran and its meaning, insyaAllah you’ll find peace. She loves to read surah Furqaan and a few more surahs. She said that she started bringing the Quran in her handbag first without reading it. Then, the willing came later to read and understand it.
Being Muslim is not just about solat, sadaqah, and fasting. Islam creates bigger meaning in life. For example, take away food in polystyrene containers (for tapau) is not that Islamic. It’s totally dangerous to our lives to eat from the container and put a non-recyclable item to waste. We should bring our ‘tupperware’ when we take away food.
What other people think of you is not what you should think about the most because somehow this perception and your feelings to prove to them, will eat you. The more you think that you need to show you’re good, the more you want people to notice you and the more you want to be credited for all your work – this feelings will haunt you and demoralised you. Just be honest in what you do. There will be time when people acknowledge you when you lease noticed. Allah knows what had happened, what is happening and what will happen. So, leave it to Him. You’ll grant your rewards sooner or later.
One of the main topic of the discussion was on hijab. Everyone started to give their opinions about hijab and how they started to wear it. To my surprise, they were so many girls who just started donning the hijab just like me! MasyaAllah, I feel so blessed! Some girls went on about why they were afraid to wear it before. Some mentioned that they were afraid of how people think about them later. Personally, I was thinking about donning the hijab years ago. But I kept telling myself that I’m not ready for it and I’ll wear it after I got married. Reason being, I want to wear beautiful dresses and do nice hair on my wedding day!!! Hahaha, how ridiculous right?! But as time passed by, I know that I can still be beautiful on my wedding with the hijab. But now I’m veryhappy with my decision to wear hijab even I haven’t tie the knot yet. It’s the feeling of freedom!
Do a lot of self – reflection, seek knowledge, find our own goal in life and always remember that we are just actors on the stage. And the stage is actually the world we are living in. Remember that this world is temporary and the hereafter is forever. Become more pro-active to seek knowledge and do share knowledge with others.
Get yourself surrounded with good people. People who will always want to improve themselves and who don’t judge you. Well, as a start, why not join Young Muslim Project (YMP)?! There’s talks, open circles and events that we can join.
Forget about your past and repent. Seek for Allah forgiveness. He’s the Most Merciful and Most Gracious. Do your sujud and do not repeat your mistakes. We are as human being, could never run away from making mistakes in our lives. Moving on and build a new life is what we can do to be a better person.

There were so many other things that I would like toshare with you about our open circle but I don’t think I can write everything here.In fact, some of us – including me, did shed tears when Wardina talked abouther past and how all of us can’t forgive ourselves with the mistakes we did.

Above all, let’s try to search for reasons why we arehere in this world. And do share your thoughts about Islam. Sharing is caring! :)

Snow White and the Huntsman vs Mirror Mirror

It's time for another recommendation on films you must watch next year (2012). When everybody else kind of busy talking about Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 which is on worldwide opening this week (except Malaysia- next week), there's another movie where Kristen Stewart took part as the heroin.

It's an epic fantasy adventure movie called Snow White and the Huntsman. If you think it will be like another Disney movie, you're wrong. The title might sound cute to you especially kids, but the movie is not like what you think it is. Starring Kristen Stewart (Snow White), Charlize Theron (evil queen) & Chris Hemsworth (the huntsman), I'm sure this movie will definitely make you want to grab the first ticket to cinema.

On the other hand, Mirror Mirror is another Snow White movie but with comedy and more family-oriented, which will up on the screens in 2012 too. I don't think it's a movie to be missed since Julia Roberts is part of the main actors - the evil queen, to be exact, and Lily Collins as Snow White.

So, which do you prefer? The dark movie or the comedy one?

Names with the letter Z

I'm freaking excited right now! I can finally share with you the bigggg news! Yessssss... Zaffi is pregnant!!!

To those who don't know, Zaffi is my best friend, and getting green light from her on telling the world about her pregnancy was one thing I look forward for the past few months.

Alhamdulillah she has passed her 1st trimester and she looked just lovely and happy as she was before pregnancy - except that she feels a bit tired easily. Biasala tu! (acehceh i pulak yg terer bab2 ni).

"I think it's gonna be a girl!" I showed my terer-ness.

Zaffi was quite surprised and said,"You're the 1st person who said so. Everyone else predicted it's a boy."

See...I kan terer! Hahahahaha...well we don't know yet the sex of the baby till in a month or two, so - it's fun to just guesss :P

Anyway, she asked me to find suitable names for her baby.

"It must start with a Z ok! Let me know any boy or girl's names start with Z," she asked me.

Hermmmmm... I was thinking Zenia or Zarin. And Zane for boy (in case my prediction not accurate this time).

Chop! Can you help me to find the names too??? Thank you!!!

The kid's party

Celebratingkid’s birthday on a fine afternoon with another bunch of school kids was anultimate exhaustion for me. I was in charge to be one of the cook for that dayand I started my shift early that morning.

Myspecialty is Mee Singapore! Well, don’t ask me where the dish got its name butI learned to cook it from my aunt years ago. My lovely cousin requested thedish to be served at the kid’s birthday (besides some western food like OlioPasta, Macaroni, Potato Salad, Mushroom Soup and some finger food made by mycousins), so I got no objection but to get everything prepared. Erm, I mightsay that it was my cousin who prepared the ingredients. I just walked into thekitchen and started cooking. Fuh, senangkeje!

Okay, sothe kids came over and started playing games, hu hah hu hah, eat food, hu hahhu hah, sing birthday song, eat birthday cake – yam ice cream cake, hu hah huhah, hit the piñata, hu hah hu hah, and the party went on and on.

The kidsuddenly voiced out, “You haven’t buy me any gift right? Err… a Galaxy Tab willdo!”

Okay, kidsnowadays are too high tech with all these gadgets and they are exposed tomachines world too soon. Yeah, compare to our time, this is too impossible tojust dream about it. But anyway, of course I didn’t get her that tab. Somethingsuits her age – which is 10 – was all I can think of, yeah, a sling bag.Actually I thought of getting her some books but she might not get excitedabout it since we went to Big Bad Wolf Sale a couple of weeks ago. So, nah.

It’s fun tocelebrate birthdays when we are kids right?! Excitement of getting party packs,playing games, birthday cakes – are tremendous! Okay, I’ll definitely organize birthdayparties for my kids later. Let them have all the fun they want. In fact, youcan be kids only once! Errr....right?

Emak ingin naik haji

I told you before that I'm now into Indonesian films right? Well, in this holy month of Zulhijjah, I'm proud to promote you a beautiful movie called 'Emak Ingin Naik Haji' (Mom wants to do Hajj). It's not a new film - I think it was out in 2009 but the messages from this film are all that matters.

Living in poverty, Emak determines to save money to do Hajj although she knows it'll be impossible to do so with less saving and her old age. Her son, Zein, feels the sympathy to help her by selling his paintings. But yet, the money still not enough. Will she be able to step her feet to Makkah Al Mukarramah?

Do watch this movie and don't forget to get some tissues ready (if you have sensitive heart like me :P).

The Shepherd's Path

I'm a Muslim and I know most of my readers are.

And in Islam, we have been told about so many Prophets before us from Adam a.s to Ibrahim a.s and finally Muhammad S.A.W.

We are told to love our Prophets especially Muhammad SAW as he is sent for all ummah including us. But do we really love him?

I attended a brief - kind of introduction - talk by Shaykh Abdulbary Yahya at Taylor's Lakeside Campus last Friday just to get to know a little bit more about our beloved Prophet-Muhammad SAW.

Tell you the truth-I'm sooooo glad and thankful that I got the chance to be there. It's actually a four days course and that night was an introduction session - so it's free! But I just went for the introduction as my other days were occupied, sigh.

I learned so many things from the talk that I would like to share with you.

1. Shaykh Abdulbary was telling a story of how Rasulullah SAW died and the rest of his companions including Umar Al Khattab, Abu Bakar As Siddiq and Uthman Bin Affan grieved his death. But while he was telling us the story, he cried in sadness. Then after the story telling, he said:

"We were just spoken about the death of our Prophet SAW, but very few of us here even shed a tear. Very few of us. Why? What's the reason?"

I was speechless. I didn't cry at all - and how can he know that?

"The reason is because we claim to love the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad SAW, but we don't make the effort to learn about him. Because if we really knew who he was then we will be speaking about his death, Muhammad SAW, we would be speaking about the greatest calamity in our lives. If I stood here speaking about any one that we love very much, maybe about your parents or my parents, of how they treated us, how kind they were to us, all the time you had with him, what would happen? And maybe if I mention the last word that person, we definitely would have tears in our eyes."

It's sssssoooooooo true, isn't it? I know that we need to love Allah and Rasulullah SAW but I don't really know him that well till I can shed tears when I hear story about his death.

Okay, maybe I know a little about him when I learned about his biodata in primary school - about his mother, his father, grandfather, how he met his wife Khadijah R.A, how he received his first wahyu, bla bla bla. But other than that?

We need to make time to know and learn about him because we need to love him. It's just like when you want to know someone, you'll go around asking your friends who knew him, then maybe add him on facebook to stalk on him (I did that sometimes :P). We try hard to get to know him before we can fall in love with him, right?

It's the same thing we need to do about Rasulullah SAW (despite the facebook thingy). Read the Quran more as there are so many things about him in there. Get a book about him - this is what I want to do next. Don't go saying that we don't have time for it. Because what are we actually saying is we don't have time for that not important thing in our lives. We are just giving excuses and excuses - but Allah knows what's in our hearts. He knows that we don't care about it actually.

2. Rasulullah lived in a small room - even smaller than our bathroom. It's so small until when he needs to sujud, he would tapped Saidatina Aishah R.A to crawl up so that he can sujud. This shows how small the room was. But we never be grateful with the house we're living in.

3. Nabi Yusuf A.S was given half of the beauty - and the other half was given to the rest of the people in the world. More beautiful than Brad Pitt or Wentworth Miller or who ever else you want to mention in the world. But again we're never enough with our looks. Shaykh said everytime you look in the mirror, praise Allah for making us beautiful as beautiful as our manners too.

4. We need to categorised all the important things that we learned or knew nicely in our minds following with the most important to the least important. When you learn something (knowledge), put Islam as the top priority.

5. When you learn something, you need to convey the knowledge that you've learned to everyone you know. Okay, that's one reason I'm writing this down for you to learn too :)

6. Be sincere in everything you do. Even small things like pick up rubbish, give water to a thirsty dog, or smiling at strangers - be sincere. Allah knows whether you're sincere or not - even in you're good in pretending.

That's all what I've learned from the talk. InsyaAllah, we will share more knowledge in the near future.

Pak Z Kopitiam: korean style!

Besides Seoul Garden, I haven't tried any Korean food before till few days ago. Thanks to Afzai and Aliaa who craved for it, we travelled all the way from Putrajaya to Ampang, to try some.

And I'm glad that we did. *big smile*

We were hanging out with her two siblings and old friend, Nadiah Hamzah & hubby at Paparich when the time showed 12am.

Then, all of us started wishing Aliaa happy birthday and took some pictures. But I know she's actually waited for an important call/msg from someone...someone she cares. *wink*

Islam inspires people.

And in order for us to live up to what we are telling the world, wehave to be inspirations.

The most beloved Muslim in America is who? Who can guess?

Suhaib Webb? Nope.

Hamza Yusuf? Nope.

Raihan? Nope.

Who do you think he is?

Muhammad Ali.

Do you know why Muhammad Ali is the most beloved Muslim in America?

Because he inspired America.

That was part of the talk by Imam Suhaib Webb called “Do youhave ADD (Akhirah Deficit Disorder)?” It was held at KGPA organised by YMP.

Do you think we are practising what Islam is all about? Imean the way we live, the way we talk, the way we eat, the way we treat others?Are we really portraying a good role model like Prophet Muhammad S.A.W?

After the talk, I kept thinking about how good or bad I amliving my life and journey in this world. Am I good enough till someone elsecan really look up to me as a role model, as someone inspiring?

A true Muslim has an iconic behaviour where everyone elsewill look up to him and want to be just like him. It was shown by our belovedprophet, Muhammad S.A.W. He was so generous, so down to earth, so kind, sosmart, so humble, and all the so – nice – things he was. Even the enemiesrespected him and converted to Islam after knowing him.

But most of us are satisfied of what we are now. Are wetrying to improve ourselves to be as good as Prophet Muhammad S.A.W?

Are we really trying???

We can just say it with words, or even write nice things ontwitter or facebook or in blogs, but do we really trying to improve ourselvesin becoming better Muslims?

But what Imam Suhaib did mentioned in his talk was to takebaby steps. Yes, baby steps!

You see how a baby makes his first attempt to walk – he movesso slowly- even with the help of his mother. He tries very slowly till one dayhe can walk, then he can run.

It’s the same thing that we should do. We must try to takebaby steps in learning, in seeking knowledge, in improving ourselves, in changingthe goals in life – and at last, inspire others- in making people to changebecause of what we are doing.

It doesn’t mean that you have to be an Imam or Ustaz orUstazah or any Islamic leaders to inspire others. It can be any of us. It canbe you – yes, you!

Just look at what we do every day, the way we speak toothers, even to non – muslims, the politeness, the words we use, the humbleness– somehow it can melt anyone in anger.

Okay, guys, I think we should muhasabah diri from now on.

Are we living for popularity and for all the complimentsfrom others for our beautiful clothes and latest fashion and style? Are weliving for good money and high ranks and status?

Or are we living for the akhirah– the hereafter?

How to be a good buddy

Last week, I went to a talk by Sheikh Bilal Ismail at KGPA called "How to be a good buddy". Thank God I went there, I learned so many good things about friendship and relationship, plus I've got to meet Proudduck, Toots and Asma' (the 3 stooges, hehe).

They were all sitting next to me (with a gap of 2 empty chairs) - and Toots was so serious and really concentrated on Sheikh's talk...wow!

It's so cool to see Vivy Yusuf (Proudduck) in tudung, so I twitted her after the event, complimenting her:

HAHAHAHAHA...she's so funny!

Anyways, the talk was super duper good! Sheikh taught us about saying your love to your buddies. If you don't tell this to your friends, they will never know right. So he asked us to look at the person on our rights - and say - I love you.

So Asma' was sitting on my right, she looked at me and smiled. Should I say "I love you" to her??? I don't even know her. Well, part of she was mentioned a lot in Proudduck, but other than that, I don't know her personally.

But a girl who was sitting on my left started first. She put her hands on my lap and looked into my eyes and said- I love you, friend - in Arabic. I don't remember the words actually but I replied back the same thing in Arabic too (after asking her to correct my pronunciation a few times). Oh I learned one Arabic word from Sheikh too - jayeed- which means good. He used this word all the timeeeeeeee...till I asked the meaning from the girl next to me. I WANT TO LEARN ARABIC!

Do we tell our friends that we love them? I do tell it to my closest friends actually - especially when I want to end a conversation on the phone or by text.

Carilah ilmu walaudalam apa jua cara sekalipun.

Herm, best tak kata –kata awal tu? Life is not as hard as we think. Ilmu juga tidaklah susah nak dicari melainkan usaha gigih yangberterusan. Matlamat sebenar tu perlu ada.

Dalam zaman moden ni,ilmu ada di mana – mana sahaja. Buku – buku, majalah, internet, surat khabar,lagu, filem, syarahan, ceramah dan sebagainya.

All those things that happen around us has knowledge that wecan gained from them. I guess it’s the matter of how you differentiate the goodknowledge and the bad ones. Filem jugamemaparkan ilmu berkenaan banyak benda. We learn about how other people areliving in another countries, what languages they speaks, their customs andtraditions, religions, etc.

Most of the films are fictional and created solely for themovies. But there are films which based on true events. Hence, we learnedsomething new every time we watch a movie. Am I right?

Recently, I was eager to find films with Islamic values init. Saja bosan – bosan, boleh cari ilmu.Ilmu itu kan pahala.

I found few movies – Ketika Cinta Bertasbih 1 & 2 (fromIndonesia), Perempuan Berkalung Sorban (from Indonesia), Mooz Lum (from U.S.A)and TheStoning of Suraya M.

All these movies are worth to watch. All of them havedifferent story line and values. I would not explain every single details ofthe movies as I want you to watch them and think wisely before commenting onanything.

But the main idea - it’s not wrong to watch any controversial movies or religious movies (thisgoes the same to other religions – Christian, Hindu, Buddha, Jews, etc), but wemust know what good things to take from it and to leave the bad things behindas lessons.

What do youknow about humanitarian work? Do you give help to those in needs?

A talk byFadlullah Wilmot, Country Director or Islamic Relief Pakistan, at an opencircle and open house event in PJ, was an open eye to me. He said, even thoughwe pray a lot, every day fasting, and even got a black dot on the forehead, butif we don’t give help to others and the orphans, all our deeds are wasted.

When MrFadlullah gave his talk, everyone seemed to be so interested especially whenthere were slides on the orphans and the poor in Pakistan and Acheh. But themost memorable moment was when he told us a story about a poor woman who livedin a very poor condition.

Tears startedto coming down his cheeks when he started to begin his story.

“I wasvisiting this lady’s house, when suddenly the lady looked uncomfortable. Iasked my friend what’s wrong. Did I say anything wrong? Did I hurt herfeelings?”

“The womansaid; You came to my house but I can’t even serve you a cup of tea.”

Mr Fadlullahwas so touched by her words. He said that even though she’s living in poverty,she’d still want to welcome her guest well.

Alhamdulillah,I was so happy to join the event today. I met loads of new friends fromdifferent races and countries too. And I got to meet Mr Fadlullah’s daughter,Wardina Safiyyah, my idol.

She came withher three kids – all in yellow – except for Imran (the only son), where shehelped her father to take pictures of the event.

When I wasabout to excuse myself, I went to see Wardina and she greeted me with salam.

“You lookfamiliar, are you from Sri Aman?” asked Wardina.

Sri Aman? DoI look like a Sri Aman girl? Hehehe...I’m from St Georges’ okay.

I justreplied, “No. But we have met before at Village Park.”

“What was Idoing over there?” asked her again.

“Errr...eatof course. But I guess you don’t remember because I haven’t wear hijab the lasttime I met you.” I explained.

“When do youstart wearing hijab?”

“Last year.”

“And how doyou feel now?” she asked again.

“Happy. I’mso blessed!”

“Good.Alhamdulillah.”

It was one ofmy favourite moments in life to have a small chat with Wardina. Glad that Iwent to the event. Her kids were so adorable. I remember when I want to take myshoes by the door, Imran (Wardina’s youngest son) was busying to take his too.

“I want to takeImran’s shoes too... Imran’s shoes.” How cute!! Macam nak picit – picit je pipi budak ni.

Sadly I didn’tmanage to take more photos there. I was busy chit- chatting and eating, but aslong as it was all captured nicely in my memory, that’s good enough.

Weekends with friends

As time passes by, you know that you need good companions toget you go through your life, even if you knew them for as long as you live orin few seconds. For me, my friends are those who I care a lot even though theydon’t know about it.

As for Aliaa, she just came back from Melbourne for 5 weeksholiday. I was sooo thrilled to meet her. We spent our day with breakfast thena quick shopping and good talk later after that. What I like about spendingtime with her is that we will talk about life and motivate each other on everylittle thing that we can come up with. She’s so positive in whatever she does.Salute! I love talking to her about Islam too... We can talk about it forhours.... Oh, thanks Al for the great company!

My weekends were so great when I got to gather with my oldfriends. Just hanged out for BBQ party and played games by the beach, I wasrelieved to spent time with them.

And to my long time friend, Mud, who I’ve considered him asa brother, congratulations on your marriage, big boy! May you have a greatjourney of married life together with beautiful wifey.

Purple Love. Filem baru dari Indonesia lakonan Pasha Ungudan Nirina Zubir. Okay, first of all, Purple Love tiada kaitan hidup atau matidengan Purplelurve. Nothing to do with it at all. Tapi yang membuatkan sayasangat tertarik nak tonton filem ni sebab tajuk dia la. Sangat unik okay(seunik nama blog ni kan).

Dan movie ni sangat best!!!! Saya sangat suka!

Main reason sebab Pasha!!! I never knew Pasha. When Amirtweeted me and mentioned Nirina Zubir, I quickly remembered Heart (the movieshe acted along with Irwansyah and Acha Septriasa). But the name Pasha Ungujust reminded me of the Ungu band.

I know Ungu. I’ve listened to their songs before likeAndaiku Tahu and Kekasih Gelapku. Love these songs!!! But I never knew thevocalist. Seriously, I never knew Pasha till last week. Hahaha…kejam.

Boleh tak if I say yang I ingat Pasha tu vocalist kumpulanPadi… in my mind, I have this Padi guy face as Pasha. Boleh tak???

Rupa-rupanya Pasha itu sangat handsome. Okay, to me, he is handsome. Ermmm, maybe that’stoo much. Maybe he’s cute. Yup, he’s cute.

I recommend all of you to watch Purple Love. It’s a coolmovie and I think the Ungu band can really act. Pasha and Nirina had a goodchemistry despite both of them are happily married with their spouses. Yes,Pasha is married to an ex-stewardess named Adelia and Nirina is married to Padiguitarist (Okay, at least there’s Padi in the picture).

Sinopsis:

Malam itu seharusnyamenjadi malam paling indah dalam hidup PASHA. Bersama sahabat-sahabatnya,MAKKI, ONCI, ROWMAN dan ENDA, Pasha sudah merencanakan untuk melamar kekasihnyaLISA (Qory Sandioriva). Namun ternyata, di hari yang sama juga, Lisa memutuskanhubungan karena memilih untuk bersama laki-laki lain. Pasha pun shock dan patahhati. Makki pun mempunyai ide untuk menghubungi sebuah agency yang bekerjauntuk mengembalikan motivasi orang. Agency ini dimiliki oleh TALITA (NirinaZubir), seorang gadis cantik yang eksentrik. Talita pun kebingungan saatShelly menyatakan tidak mau dijodohkan dengan Pasha. Maksud hanya inginmenghibur Pasha, Talita menyadari kalau ia sebetulnya mencintai Pasha. Pashasendiri, yang tidak tahu kalau selama ini Talita menjalankan tugas dariteman-temannya, betul-betul mulai merasa jatuh cinta dengan Talita.

Pasha pun melamar Talita. Semua sepertinya berjalan sempurna untuk Talita.Akhirnya ia bisa mendapatkan cinta sejati. Namun semua berubah saat Lisakembali untuk Pasha. Sepertinya tugas Talita, yaitu mengembalikan kebahagiaanPasha dengan memberinya cinta akan bisa diselesaikan dengan kembalinya Lisa

Yang mana yang lebih penting untuk Talita? Kebahagiaan Pasha atau kebahagiaandirinya sendiri?

Know The Final Messenger of Peace

I thought I won’t be spending time on this blog until after Aidilfitri. I even wrote that in earlier post that I might visit this blog a little less.

But Alhamdulillah, in this month of Ramadhan, Allah wants me to find more about Islam. And day by day, I discovered a lot of new things on Islam. Some of them, had made me cried. Thinking how wonderful Islam is, I can’t just keep it to myself but I’d love to share it with all of my brothers and sisters.

The latest video I found was on Know The Final Messenger of Peace by Sheikh Yusof Estes in Dubai. It was shared by a sister at one Islamic group I joined earlier. Jazakallah, sister.

I cried watching this too. I know, you must be thinking that I have sensitive heart. Okay, maybe I do. But I don’t cry because of any guys anymore, I cry because of Allah and how beautiful Islam is.

A post by Wardina Safiyyah touched my heart. I know, you must be saying, ‘Wardina again!’ But she has lots of info and good knowledge on Islam that should be no harm for us to share and get benefits from it.

The post was about a documentary of young Muslims who memorized the Quran and joined an international competition in Egypt.

It brought me tears watching these young kids age 10 who can memorized the Quran so well. I am ashamed of myself not able to do the same.

I wish I had learned and memorized Quran when I was young. But it’s never too late. Let’s start practicing with the shortest surah first. InsyaAllah, one day, we can become like them. Amin…

Recently, there was a controversial ad played on our local television specifically for Ramadhan month. Well, I guess our Malaysian talented producers and ad agencies should be more creative and sensitive towards our Malaysian religious and cultures.

Maybe we should learn more from foreign ads especially in seeding Islamic behavioural to the local ad? What do you think?

Assalammualaikum.

Today is the first day of Ramadhan and it’s the first day of our 3^rd Rukun Islam to be fulfilled this year which is fasting or berpuasa. Are you guys still okay? Ade yang dah buka periuk? Hopefully buka periuk nasi time sahur tadi je la kan.

How about your tarawikh last night? Was it good? I brought along my little ‘daughter’ to the mosque. Well, she’s not that little at the age of 13. But the feeling of excitement really caught us when we were preparing ourselves for tarawikh.

And during tarawikh, I noticed that the imam recited surah Al Baqarah beautifully till he nearly cried. Oh my! But I’m sure most of the makmum didn’t know the meaning of each words and it will be hard to understand and to ‘feel’ just like the imam.

So how about this Ramadhan we take the initiative to understand the Quran better. Get yourselves a translation of Quran (like a small book) and put in you handbag every day. Once you reach your office, read the translation and maybe during lunch hour, you can do so. Just to understand the meaning of each surah will enhance your takwa and iman.

Okay, let me ask you if you already have any vision (wawasan/azam) for Ramadhan? To lose weight at least a few kilograms, maybe? Try to create and do stuff that’s different from your daily life. Memang la perbezaan ketara bulan Ramadhan adalah kita berpuasa dan bertarawikh pada malamnya. Tapi apa lagi yang berbeza selain itu dengan hari-hari biasa kita?

A friend of mine, Aliaa, wants to stop listening to music and stop eating before getting full. That’s very good start, isn’t it? I guess I want to try on that too. Let’s join her, shall we? Anyone else has any different challenges this Ramadhan? It’s good habit to do this month for 30 days and InsyaAllah the habits will stay forever if we determined to make it work.

Last but not least, I wanna wish everyone Happy Ramadhan Al Mubarak! Happy fasting! Berpuasalah dengan baik dan tingkatkanlah amalan kita. Semoga ganjarannya berlipat kali ganda! Amin…

Pesta bola

So you know that I like to watch football based on entry on football last week. Oh, by the way, my brother did go to Chelsea vs Malaysia game. And don’t ask me how. It’s all very last minute thingy.

And last night I actually went to watch Malaysia vs Singapore game at Stadium Nasional, Bukit Jalil. It’s the World Cup 2014 Qualifying Stage 2. Quite excited actually!

My boss let me go off early (I love you, boss!) and I rode with my friends as early as 5pm. By the time we reached there, the crowd was crazy! Too many people, okay! Macam pergi festival ape ntah…okay festival bola.

Masa tu seronok tengok ramai Malaysian with black & yellow jerseys and blue jerseys membanjiri stadium. Kagum! Especially when all races including Malays, Chinese & Indians all together gave their support to our Harimau Malaya.

But the most main thing that I want to share with all of you is the Malaysian spirit that we had last night. I was so grateful when I actually got the chance to experience watching the game there. Semua orang seems to bersatu. Baru saya nampak semangat Satu Malaysia tu.

I saw one Chinese family with the parents and kids wear the yellow jersey crossing the road to the stadium. Then, one bunch of Indian friends all together (with the jerseys) waiting near the gate. Not forgotten, a young Malay couple carrying their two little toddlers walking to the stadium. It’s like, Wow!! I can see Malaysian being as ONE!

Tapi, sewaktu Negaraku dimainkan kat stadium, memang meremang bulu roma okay.Everyone seems to sing the song with full concentration. Semangat berkobar-kobar bila nyanyi, macam nak nangis bila tengok keadaan tu. Oh, I love you, Malaysia! (acehcehceh….)

Dalam busy nak tengok bola, solat tak leh kita lupa. Bila Maghrib masuk je, saya tengok beribu orang berhuyun amik wuduk. Kat surau wanita pulak, tak cukup telekung. Saya plak lupa nak bawak, ingatkan ade je yang wakaf kat surau tu. But lesson learned, next time mesti bawak telekong sendiri ye sebab memang tak cukup.

Kaum lelaki solat kat luar (atas simen) sebab surau tak cukup nak tampung ribuan Muslim yang ada. Saya ada ternampak seorang lelaki ni amik wuduk dengan botol air mineral je. Ramai yang gunakan bendera Malaysia sebagai sejadah. Takpelah, dalam keadaan macam ni, tak salah mereka nak gunakan bendera kan. Darurat.

Good job, Harimau Malaya! No matter what had happened, no regrets okay! Things happen for a reason. We’ll do better next time…

Rezeki Allah

Assalammualaikum everyone!

Today I would like to share with you on rezeki/rizq (sustenance).

Last year, I did mentioned about rizq/rezeki yang membuat saya sangat bersyukur dengan segala nikmat yang Allah kurniakan. Saya ada menyebut tentang solat Dhuha. Do you still remember the post?

Solat sunat digalakkan untuk kita buat lebih2 lagi kalau kita masih ada peluang dan masa. Honestly, agak lama jugak saya tinggalkan solat Dhuha. Dulu, kalau weekends je, ada wawasan nak buat tapi asyik bagi alasan or create alasan untuk diri sendiri. Herm, nama pun manusia kan….

But lately, saya dah mula buat solat Dhuha balik every weekends. Rasa excited sangat nak tunggu weekends. Rezeki itu milik Allah. Dan Allah memberi rezeki kepada sesiapa saja yang dikehendakiNya.

Hari ni ada berita baik untuk saya. Rezeki Allah untuk saya kali ni. Alhamdulillah, syukur sangat. No need to tell further on it. Tapi saya yakin kalau kita usaha, dan bertawakkal padaNya, insyaAllah Dia akan makbulkannya. Sangat happy……………..:)

Walaupun solat sunat itu hanyalah sunat, tapi tak salah kalau kita cuba jinakkan diri melakukannya kan?

Kadang-kadang ada je orang kata, “Solat sunat tu bukannya wajib, baik utamakan yang wajib dulu, tak payah nak difikirkan sangat”.

But to get extra credits for all the deeds would a bonus right. Apa salahnya buat benda sunat. Puasa pun kita rajin buat puasa sunat enam lah, puasa Isnin Khamis lah, takkan solat extra pun tak boleh.

Ada jugak saya terfikir, perlu tak saya kongsi cerita pasal semua ni sebab takut orang akan menganggap kita cakap besar dan menunjuk-nunjuk dengan kelakuan kita atau aktiviti keIslaman. Tapi seperti satu artikel yang ditulis Norden Mohamed, tak salah kalau kita nak berkongsi rasa dengan orang lain agar orang lain pun dapat kebaikannya.

Biarlah apa yang kita tulis tu ada pengajaran dan ilmu jugak kepada pembaca, betul tak? Siapa setuju???

Oleh itu, jom ramai-ramai kita start buat solat Dhuha… mulakan dengan mudah dulu, buat sebulan sekali ke, lepas tu tiap- tiap minggu ke, lepas tu boleh buat tiap-tiap hari! Wow!!! Lepas nie, kita buat solat-solat sunat yang lain pulak…:)

Are you a football fan?

I am. Well, I don’t say that I’m a fanatic one but I would just say that I like to watch football (it’s that counted as a fan???). Okay, if it’s not then I just say that I like football (wink). Growing up with two brothers in the family has made me kind of familiar with football matches and teams. Okay, not that familiar.

The most anticipated moment is when the World Cup season arrives. Gosh, I won’t have enough sleep just to watch the matches at 2 o’ clock in the morning. Yeah, that’s crazy! But it’s football fever, man.

But when I was in London, my brother tersangatlah wanted to go to Chelsea Stadium. But we didn’t go in the end. He’s a Chelsea fan. Though he once confessed that he’s not the blue team fan due to the ‘ciput’ ranking in EPL, I know he’s still adores them, no matter what.

And now he’s back in Malaysia for his practical training and Chelsea is playing tomorrow!!! I wanted to get him tickets to go there through contests and free coupons in newspapers but I’m not that lucky. Okay, don’t ask why I didn’t get the paid tickets (giggling).

Just watch on television, dek. Dapat tengok jugak, right!

But I was excited to watch our Malaysian team played against Arsenal and Liverpool and next will be Chelsea. Although they are giants in football arena, I still support our national team. No matter how bad our Malaysia team performs, they’re still our heroes!

I just can’t understand why some people are so proud of other international teams and kutuk gila our own team. I know that you love those international teams but when they are here to play against our Harimau Malaya, can you please show your support and love to these players instead of membanggakan team yang memang sedia bangga???

Our team needs your cheer and support at the stadiums. Show them some respect and put yourselves in their shoes, then you’ll know how they feel when they are playing at their own stadium with Malaysian crowd but the spectators are not in Malaysian spirit! So shameful!

Let’s think about this again.

Giuliana and Bill adopting

I fancy Giuliana and Bill Rancic a lot. I love their colourful, hectic lives although they have so many ups and downs, they’re still together patting each other shoulders.

And I guess the most painful issue that they’re facing would be delivering their own child to the world. They’ve been trying to get a child for years, alas Miss Luck has not been by their side.

I’ve seen and read other people’s dilemma on getting their own child. It’s full of hard work and emotional situation.

Praying to God, go up and down the hospitals, injections, surgeries, or even surrogate moms. Well, Giuliana and Bill had the same experiences, just that they actually shared it with the whole wide world through their reality television show while other couples would just keep it as secret.

At last, they’ve decided to adopt. Finally, the whole drama of crying and heart-breaking conversations will end (hopefully). And they’ve decided to adopt an Italian!!! Wow, Giuliana is looking for a child from her old place, Naples.

"It’s definitely something that I’ve thought about. I’m from Naples. I was born in a poor neighborhood and I always, in my heart, felt like it would be amazing to be able to adopt a child from Naples. I could give someone the opportunity I had. Sometimes, it doesn’t mean that you’ll get children right after you got married. It could months or a year or maybe 10 years. Only God knows. But the society don’t really care about it, they just kept asking these couples. Like, when you are not single, they ask you when are you getting married. Then, when you got married, they ask you when are you having a baby. And when you have your first baby, they ask you about the second one. What on earth???

It’s all about you and your partner. Leave everything to God. I know that we must work for it but He knows best. He already planned everything for you. Just have faith and believe that it’s all tests for you.

How many of you have Twitter account? Raise up your hands!!! Come on…raise up fast! Hehehe…

Okay, and do you follow celebrities and artists too? I know that most of you will definitely follow your favourite celebrities coz you wanna know their updates, cute self pictures, their thoughts and so on, right? Right???

And some time you tend to follow motivational accounts that provide you with good, motivational quotes and words that somehow give you reminders in life.

I follow a lot of celebrities accounts and not to forget motivational accounts too. From Wardina Safiyyah (it’s a must!) to Siti Nurhaliza to Hana Tajima and etc… Okay I follow lots of them (artists).

But the main reason I’m writing this down is because I recently follow Sham Kamikaze who has changed from a hard rocker guitarist to a low profile Muslim with great attitude. Well, don’t get me wrong. I don’t fancy him because he’s a celebrity but the one thing that I like about his twitter account is that he constantly update the prayer time and places he was at for that prayer.

I mean it’s hard to see someone who performs solah on time and at different mosques every time, right. Some time, when I was ‘busying’ watching telly (and at the same time reading twitter updates), I will be strucked by his prayer time updates and suddenly realized that I haven’t pray yet. Well, it’s a good reminder actually.

And when I knew that he’s always perform his daily solah at any nearer mosques, I was touched. Bestnya, dapat solat kat masjid tiap-tiap hari kan. Do you perform your daily solah at the mosque? Or you’ll only go there for Friday prayer or Tarawih? I think for men, there should be no problem in doing so. But for ladies, I’m sure most of you will say that you need a company to go with as you don’t want to be alone praying in Mosque. Well, correct me if I’m wrong.

Any reasons for that?

I did asked myself too. And my answer always be that I have no one to go with. Always. In fact, seldom we see woman goes to mosque to pray her daily prayer other than those who have business outside and drop by at the mosque to pray.

But for men, please urge yourselves to pray at the mosque with other Muslims...besar pahalanya... :)

Living with kids in the house has made me realized that I’m kinda adult with responsibilities on my shoulder. And helping them with their homework is my new responsibility in the house. Well, I don’t mind actually.

I used to help my brothers with their homework and I was the ‘angrybirds’ kind of teacher. Yup, I was super garang!

I’ve made my younger brother cried the last time I taught him Math. Maybe I wasn’t that patient last time. Eeeee….tak tahan bila ajar tapi tak paham.

But I think I managed to be more patient now. I successfully taught my ‘kid’ Math last night and I’m glad she can understand it very well.

Okay, maybe im not a bad teacher after all.

Tahajjud Cinta: bakal menggegar?

Satu lagi drama berbentuk keislaman bakal menemui penonton iaitu Tahajjud Cinta pada setiap Jumaat pukul 9 malam. Maybe it would be a phenomenon just like Nur Kasih, we'll never know. Tapi ramai pelakon - pelakon hebat berlakon dlm drama ni seperti Fazura, Fauziah Ghous, Eman Manan, Remy Ishak, Shahz Jaszle, Tiz Zaqyah, Aaron Aziz, Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Jins Shamsudin dan Neelofa dan ramai lagi.

Drama ni arahan Erma Fatima akan ade 13 episod. Sure best!

O-Shima Cafe: Sushi in Shah Alam

A tweet from my friends who went to eat Japanese food last weekend made me drooling… I can’t wait to have some sushi and soba mee and shashimi and unagi…oh, seriously im drooling now!

But when I read in NST about a Malay couple who opened a kiosk of Japanese food in Shah Alam, I can’t wait to try it! It’s called O-Shima Café located at Shah Alam Walk!

Anyone has been there before???

Hair salon?

A Chinese guy, colleague of mine, ‘ping’ me on the office communicator this morning.

“Hey, can I ask you something? I’m kinda curious actually. Where do Muslim girls have their hair cut, at home?”

I was surprised by his question.

“Well, we went to the salon of course, most of us.” I replied.

“Oh, you take off your head scarf for that only one day when you want to go to salon???”

Okay, that’s not right. “No, we still wear our headscarves, but we take it off in the salon to let the hairdresser cut our hair.” I wondered why he can’t think of that.

He continued, “ I see… So you wear your headscarf every time even at home right? But not in your room when you are alone, right?”

Herm…I’m surprised again. Maybe he never knew that Muslim women wears headscarves to cover their hair from the outsiders apart from their families. I told him that only families are allowed to see our hair and aurah like father and brothers.

At least now he knows.

But I’m a bit disappointed with myself too as I don’t really protect my aurah when I went to the salon. I went to a non Muslim salon where non Muslim’s ladies do my hair. For Muslim, aurah to a non Muslim woman is the same as to a man.

I should be more cautious next time. Do you know where to find a Muslim salon?
